Job summary

Oxford Quantum Circuits is seeking a Data Centre Engineer to support the deployment, commissioning and ongoing operation of quantum computing systems in commercial data centres worldwide. You will translate complex engineering knowledge into scalable operational processes and training for field teams.

Based in Reading, this role requires strong documentation, troubleshooting and customer-facing skills, with international travel to install and service cutting‑edge quantum equipment and ensure

Qualifications

  • Experience in data centre or critical infrastructure environments.
  • Ability to develop technical documentation, SOPs and training materials.
  • Experience delivering technical training or mentoring engineers/technicians.
  • Experience working with customers or third-party contractors during deployments.
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills with a methodical approach.

Responsibilities

  • Support deployment, installation and commissioning of quantum computing systems at customer data centres worldwide.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, training materials and technical documentation for field operations.
  • Act as the technical bridge between OQC engineering and smart hands technicians.
  • Provide remote and on-site technical support during deployments and service interventions.
  • Capture lessons learned to improve procedures, training and product design.
  • Work with engineering teams to improve system reliability and ensure safety and quality standards.
  • Build relationships with customers, suppliers and data centre operators for global deployments.
