Job summary

UKRI International’s National Quantum Computing Centre at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, Harwell, Oxfordshire, invites applications for a Quantum Applications Engineer. You will develop practical quantum computing solutions across sectors, using quantum algorithms, benchmarking and SDKs, with access to leading platforms and a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level in quantum computing or closely related field.
• Experience with Python and quantum SDKs to run quantum circuits.
• Understanding of quantum algorithms and willingness to upskill.

Responsibilities

• Develop practical quantum computing applications with the team.
• Code, model and run quantum circuits using SDKs and environments.
• Identify use-cases across sectors and benchmark quantum advantage.
• Publish non-confidential results and present findings at meetings.
