Job summary

Bimplus, a well-established contractor in Walsall, seeks a Quantity Surveyor to manage costs on water infrastructure projects. You will work with clients and subcontractors to ensure profitable delivery, while maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders.

This full-time role offers hybrid working with one day remote per week. The successful candidate will have a Quantity Surveying qualification, NEC contract experience, and solid cost management and communication skills, plus a full UK

Qualifications

  • Degree/HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
  • Experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor in water/utilities/civil engineering projects.
  • Sound knowledge of NEC form of contract.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Strong commercial awareness and cost management skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Manage project costs from inception to final account.
  • Prepare and submit applications for payment.
  • Administer subcontractor accounts, payments and variations.
  • Produce cost reports, forecasts and cash flow projections.
  • Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Support procurement and subcontract negotiations.
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements and procedures.
  • Collaborate with delivery teams to drive commercial performance.
  • Manage compensation events, change control and contractual correspondence.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and supply chain partners.

Your new company
You will be joining a well-established and highly respected contractor based in Walsall with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects within the water sector. This multi-accredited contractor delivers clean and waste water capital programmes directly for multiple major water providers and is well-known for its collaborative culture, customer-focused approach and commitment to developing its people. Due to continued success and a strong pipeline of AMP8 projects, they are actively seeking a talented Quantity Surveyor to join their team.

This is a full-time permanent position based out of their Walsall office with hybrid and flexible working.

Your new role

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial management of water infrastructure projects. Working closely with operational and commercial teams, you will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered profitably while maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Managing project costs from inception through to final account
  • Preparing and submitting applications for payment

What you’ll need to succeed
  • Degree/HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying (or similar) or experience equivalent
  • Experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor within water, utilities, civil engineering or infrastructure projects
  • Sound working knowledge of NEC form of contract
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Strong commercial awareness and cost management skills
  • Full UK driving licence.
