Job summary

ABS Commercial Solutions is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to support a varied portfolio of utilities and infrastructure projects across the North West. You will be involved in commercial management, cost control and contract administration to help deliver projects on time and within budget.

You’ll work across the North West with a mix of home working, client office attendance and site visits, depending on project needs. This role offers exposure to Tier 1 and 2 contractors and diverse schemes.

Qualifications

• Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor or in a comparable commercial role.
• Solid understanding of commercial management and cost control.
• Experience with subcontractor management, valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Knowledge of contract administration and commercial risk management.
• Experience within utilities, infrastructure or civil engineering advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Managing project costs, budgets, forecasts and financial reporting.
• Preparing and assessing applications for payment, interim valuations and cost reports.
• Managing subcontractor procurement, payments and commercial accounts.
• Monitoring variations, change control and commercial risks.
• Administering contracts and managing contractual obligations.
• Preparing valuations, cost reports and final accounts.
• Supporting commercial negotiations and resolving financial or contractual issues.
• Working closely with project managers, operational teams, clients and subcontractors.
• Identifying opportunities to improve commercial performance and protect project margins.
• Ensuring effective commercial processes are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
