Job summary

ABS Commercial Solutions is expanding and seeks a Quantity Surveyor to support a varied portfolio of utilities and infrastructure projects across West Yorkshire and surrounding areas.

You will actively manage project costs, budgets and contractual obligations, support valuations and final accounts, and help identify opportunities to protect margins. The role offers exposure to Tier 1/2 contractors, diverse schemes, and a flexible working pattern with a mix of site, client office and home working.

Qualifications

• Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor or in a comparable commercial role.
• Solid understanding of commercial management and cost control.
• Experience with subcontractor management, valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Knowledge of contract administration and commercial risk management.
• Experience within utilities, infrastructure or civil engineering would be advantageous.
• Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively with different project teams.
• Experience with NEC or other forms of contract would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Managing project costs, budgets, forecasts and financial reporting.
• Preparing and assessing applications for payment, interim valuations and cost reports.
• Managing subcontractor procurement, payments and commercial accounts.
• Monitoring variations, change control and commercial risks.
• Administering contracts and managing contractual obligations.
• Preparing valuations, cost reports and final accounts.
• Supporting commercial negotiations and resolving financial or contractual issues.
• Working closely with project managers, operational teams, clients and subcontractors.
• Identifying opportunities to improve commercial performance and protect project margins.
• Ensuring effective commercial processes are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
