Job summary

ABS Commercial Solutions is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to support a varied portfolio of utilities and infrastructure projects across the North West. You will play an active role in commercial management, maintaining financial control and supporting successful delivery.

You will handle costs, valuations, variations, and final accounts while working closely with project teams, clients and subcontractors. This role offers diverse exposures and ongoing development within a growing consultancy.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor or similar commercial role.
• Solid understanding of commercial management and cost control.
• Experience with subcontractor management, valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Knowledge of contract administration and commercial risk management.
• Experience in utilities, infrastructure or civil engineering is advantageous.
• Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage project costs, budgets, forecasts and financial reporting.
• Prepare and assess applications for payment, interim valuations and cost reports.
• Manage subcontractor procurement, payments and commercial accounts.
• Monitor variations, change control and commercial risks.
• Administer contracts and manage contractual obligations.
• Prepare valuations, cost reports and final accounts.
• Support commercial negotiations and resolve financial or contractual issues.
• Collaborate with project managers, operational teams, clients and subcontractors.
• Identify opportunities to improve commercial performance and protect margins.
• Ensure effective commercial processes across the project lifecycle.
