ABS Commercial Solutions is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support a growing portfolio of utilities and infrastructure projects across the North West. You will own the commercial management of projects, drive budgets and forecasts, and lead subcontractor negotiations.

This role offers exposure to varied frameworks, change control, and a collaborative environment where you can develop commercial leadership across different project environments while maintaining the value of each scheme.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or in a comparable commercial role.
• Strong commercial management experience within utilities, infrastructure or civil engineering.
• Experience managing project costs, subcontractors, change control and contractual matters.
• A good understanding of relevant forms of contract, such as NEC, where applicable.
• Experience managing commercial risks, forecasting and financial performance.
• Strong negotiation, analytical and stakeholder management skills.
• The ability to work independently, take ownership and make informed commercial decisions.
• A proactive approach to improving commercial outcomes and protecting project value.

Responsibilities

• Managing the commercial performance of projects or work packages from start to completion.
• Taking ownership of budgets, forecasts, valuations, applications for payment and financial reporting.
• Overseeing subcontractor procurement, commercial negotiations and account management.
• Managing change control, variations, compensation events and contractual entitlements where applicable.
• Administering contracts and ensuring compliance with commercial procedures and contractual requirements.
• Identifying and managing commercial risks, opportunities and potential financial exposure.
• Preparing and reviewing cost reports, forecasts, valuations and final accounts.
• Working closely with project managers, operational teams, clients and subcontractors.
• Supporting commercial negotiations and resolving contractual or financial issues.
• Identifying opportunities to improve commercial performance and protect project margins.
• Providing guidance and support to other members of the commercial team where required.
