Job summary

Novax Recruitment Group is seeking a Quantity Surveyor – Structural Steel to join an established team in Wakefield on a permanent basis. You will take ownership of commercial and contractual management of multiple structural steel projects, ensuring costs, variations, and final accounts are handled efficiently.

This role suits professionals with at least five years in construction, strong contract knowledge, and the ability to liaise with clients and subcontractors nationwide.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in construction.
• Experience with structural steel projects is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of contracts and commercial management.
• Experience managing subcontractor accounts and variations.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Managing all commercial aspects of structural steel projects.
• Reviewing and agreeing subcontract documentation and bonds.
• Preparing and submitting variations, claims and measures.
• Managing interim valuations and final accounts.
• Monitoring project cost and revenue performance.
• Preparing cost and cashflow forecasts.
• Providing commercial advice to internal teams and clients.
• Negotiating and agreeing subcontractor accounts.
• Identifying and mitigating commercial risks.
• Supporting the project team to maximise value and protect margins.
• Attending sites nationwide to liaise with clients and subcontractors.
• Maintaining strong commercial relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
