Job summary

Novax Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Quantity Surveyor for structural steel based in Barnsley. The role requires overseeing the commercial and contractual position across multiple live projects, liaising with clients, subcontractors and internal teams to drive successful outcomes.

You will manage variations, valuations and final accounts, control costs and cashflow, and attend project sites nationwide. A minimum of five years' construction experience is essential, with structural steel experience

Qualifications

• Minimum five years' construction experience.
• Structural steel experience advantageous.
• HND or degree preferred.
• Experience with variations, claims, interim valuations and final accounts.
• Experience with cost control and cashflow forecasting.
• Confident dealing directly with clients and subcontractors.
• Willingness to attend project sites nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Own the commercial management of multiple projects, from contract through to final account.
• Control subcontractor accounts, reviewing documentation, terms, warranties and bonds.
• Manage variations, claims and measurements through interim valuations and final accounts.
• Track project costs, revenue and cashflow, identifying commercial risks before they become problems.
• Advise project teams, management and clients on commercial and contractual matters.
• Build strong working relationships with clients and subcontractors through regular project and site meetings.
