Job summary

Kier Group is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join the East West Rail team in St Neots, Cambridgeshire. You will support commercial delivery on a major infrastructure project, working hybrid with travel between Bedford and Cambridge.

Role focuses on valuations, subcontractor management, cost control, and changes, with leadership to junior staff. Degree in QS required; Excel and data skills highly regarded.

Qualifications

• Has a Degree, HNC, or similar qualification in Quantity Surveying
• Experience in a Quantity Surveying role, ideally with a Tier 1 main contractor
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with data handling
• Strong relationship building and confident communication across stakeholders
• Organised, time-managing and capable of juggling priorities

Responsibilities

• Assisting contract valuations, ensuring payment applications are submitted promptly
• Leading sub-contractor management from enquiry through to completion
• Working with the project manager on cost control and forecasting site expenditure
• Raising contract changes via Early Warnings and Compensation Events
• Providing leadership to junior commercial staff and supporting their development
