Job summary

Kier Group plc. in Waterbeach, Cambridge is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Construction team.

You will manage the commercial resources of exciting projects, maximise profitability through effective contracts and subcontracts, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality results. You will lead and motivate the commercial staff, assess and mitigate risks, and oversee billing, subcontractor appointments, and material orders within delegated authorities.

Qualifications

• Diverse and clear communication across multidisciplinary teams, clients and supply chains.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively.
• Ability to work collaboratively while using your own initiative.
• Proficiency with IT packages including Microsoft Office and bespoke systems.

Responsibilities

• Managing commercial resources to maximise planned gross margin and project profitability.
• Appointing subcontractors and placing orders for materials and plant within delegated authorities.
• Measuring and valuing work to support invoicing of customers and payment to suppliers.
• Leading and motivating the project's commercial staff to ensure collaborative relationships.
• Assessing, controlling and mitigating commercial and contractual risks while implementing risk management policies.
