Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to support SPEN framework projects across the Central Belt of Scotland. You will manage costs, maximise value, and drive commercial delivery for overhead line, substation and power transmission schemes from our Motherwell office.

The role requires a degree in Quantity Surveying and NEC contract experience, with strong commercial and communication skills. Hybrid working with travel across project locations is expected.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction/civil/utility sectors.
• Knowledge of NEC contracts and commercial controls.

Responsibilities

• Manage all commercial aspects from inception to final account.
• Produce cost forecasts, cost value reconciliations, and reports.
• Administer NEC contracts and ensure compliance.
• Procure and manage subcontractors and suppliers.
• Measure and value works per contract requirements.
• Prepare Bills of Quantities and estimates.
• Support change control, compensation events, and risk reviews.
• Review project programmes to assess commercial impact of delays.
• Uphold governance, systems and best practice.
• Mentor junior team members and liaise with stakeholders.
