Job summary

The Royal Parks is seeking a qualified Quantity Surveyor to manage costs across construction and maintenance projects within our historic spaces. You will prepare detailed cost plans, monitor budgets and advise on procurement strategies to ensure value and compliance.

Ideal candidates have NEC3/4 experience, a degree-level qualification, and a professional RICS status or progression toward it. This is a full-time, two-year fixed-term contract.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in quantity surveying, cost estimations, contract administration and procurement.
  • Knowledge and experience of contract administration, including NEC3/4
  • Experience in cost planning, benchmarking, and value engineering
  • Report writing and analytical skills
  • A degree-level qualification or equivalent through relevant training and/or experience
  • A professional qualification or about to obtain RICS

Responsibilities

  • Manage costs and ensure value across construction and maintenance projects.
  • Prepare detailed cost plans, schedules of works and bills of quantities.
  • Monitor project budgets and financial performance from start to finish.
  • Advise on procurement strategies, evaluate cost returns and ensure transparent processes.
  • Oversee tender preparation, contract documentation and evaluation of works.
  • Carry out site inspections and produce cost and progress reports.
