Job summary

Tilbury Douglas are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our Building team in Harlow, supporting the commercial delivery of projects across the South East.

You will take ownership of key commercial activities, manage subcontractor accounts, monitor costs and reporting, and protect project margins throughout the lifecycle. This is a great opportunity to develop your career with a leading Tier 1 contractor.

Qualifications

• Experience working on construction projects in a commercial capacity.
• Understanding of measurement, valuation, and standard forms of contract.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a project team environment.
• Good communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Support the commercial management of projects, including cost control, forecasting, and reporting.
• Assist in the procurement and administration of subcontractor packages.
• Manage valuations, variations, and applications for payment.
• Contribute to monthly cost/value reconciliation and financial reporting.
• Work closely with operational teams to support project delivery and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
