Job summary

Nicholas Associates is recruiting a Quantity Surveyor/Estimator to join a growing residential groundworks contractor in Leicestershire. The role blends estimating and surveying from tender stage through to project completion, with responsibility for cost plans, procurement and final accounts.

You will work closely with commercial and operational teams to deliver multiple projects, interpreting drawings and specifications, and maintaining client and supplier relationships.

Qualifications

• Experience as Quantity Surveyor/Estimator or combined commercial role in construction.
• Experience in residential groundworks, civil engineering or infrastructure desirable.
• Strong commercial mindset with numerical and analytical skills.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

• Preparing estimates and tender submissions for residential groundworks projects.

Quantity Surveyor / Estimator – Residential Groundworks

Location: Leicestershire

Job Type: Full‑Time, Permanent

Salary: Competitive (Dependent on Experience)

An established and growing residential groundworks contractor is looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join its commercial team in Leicestershire.

Working with many of the UK's leading housebuilders, the business delivers a wide range of residential infrastructure and groundworks packages, including roads, sewers, drainage, foundations, plot works and external works. The Role

This is a varied commercial position, combining both estimating and quantity surveying responsibilities. Working closely with the commercial and operational teams, you will play a key role from tender stage through to project completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing estimates and tender submissions for residential groundworks projects.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

• Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor, Estimator or in a combined commercial role within the construction industry.
• Experience in residential groundworks, civil engineering or infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
• A strong commercial mindset with excellent numerical and analytical skills.
• The ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or Construction (preferred but not essential).
• A full UK driving licence.
