Job summary

Stridden Limited currently seeks a qualified Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in Northampton. The role is office-based with site visits as required, delivering residential and commercial groundworks projects across the area.

You will manage commercial aspects, prepare valuations, manage subcontractors, and monitor project costs while ensuring adherence to NEC/JCT contracts and budgets. A degree in QS and full UK driving licence are preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or HNC in Quantity Surveying.
• Proven experience in Groundworks or Civil Engineering.
• Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
• Strong knowledge of NEC and JCT forms of contract.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial aspects of multiple groundworks projects from inception through to final account.
• Prepare and submit valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.
• Manage subcontractor procurement, payments and accounts.
• Prepare cost plans, forecasts and budgets.
• Identify, price and negotiate variations.
• Monitor project costs and reporting on financial performance.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers and clients to ensure projects remain commercially successful.
• Produce accurate cost reports and ensure financial targets are achieved.
• Manage contractual documentation and ensure compliance with contract requirements.

Stridden Limited are recruiting on behalf of an established Groundworks & Civil Engineering Contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team based in Northampton.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-respected contractor delivering residential and commercial groundworks projects across Northampton and the surrounding areas. The successful candidate will be office-based, with regular visits to live sites as required.

Key Duties

• Managing the commercial aspects of multiple groundworks projects from inception through to final account.
• Preparing and submitting valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.

Requirements

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or HNC in Quantity Surveying
• Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
• Strong understanding of NEC and JCT forms of contract.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
