Job summary

WrightBuild Group in Ringwood, Hampshire is recruiting a Quantity Surveyor/Estimator to strengthen its commercial team. The role covers residential groundworks and civil engineering projects, from tender through to final account, with exposure to a diverse portfolio and long-term career progression.

Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will prepare tenders, manage costs, and build strong relationships with clients and subcontractors while ensuring accurate reporting and contractual

Qualifications

• Three years' experience within UK residential groundworks or civil engineering.
• Experience in both Quantity Surveying and Estimating.
• Strong contracts understanding and commercial reporting.
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
• Advanced Excel and Word proficiency.
• Experience using Bluebeam or similar construction software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare competitive tenders and cost estimates for residential groundworks and civil engineering projects.
• Assist with the preparation, submission and negotiation of tenders.
• Manage project costs, forecasts and commercial reporting.
• Prepare, submit and agree project variations and contractual changes.
• Monitor project profitability and prepare accurate cost reports.
• Ensure contractual obligations are understood and managed throughout the project lifecycle.
• Work closely with procurement and site management teams.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.

About You

You'll be an experienced Quantity Surveyor, Estimator, with a background in UK residential groundworks or civil engineering.
You'll have a strong commercial mindset, excellent analytical skills and be confident managing both estimating and quantity surveying responsibilities.

We're keen to speak with candidates who have:

• A minimum of three years' experience within UK residential groundworks or civil engineering.
• Experience in both Quantity Surveying and Estimating.
• A strong understanding of contracts, cost management and commercial reporting.
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word skills.
• Experience using Bluebeam or similar construction software.
