Job summary

Kier Group plc is seeking a Quantity Surveyor for the Building Solutions North team, based in Sheffield. The role involves managing commercial resources to maximise gross margin, tendering subcontracts, valuing variations, and overseeing cashflows across projects.

You will work from site or office 3+ days per week, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high quality projects for key clients. The position emphasizes effective communication and strong organisational skills.

Qualifications

• Degree or HNC in Quantity Surveying desirable.
• Experience in a similar role.
• Good organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Team player with initiative.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and bespoke packages.

Responsibilities

• Managing commercial resources to maximise gross margin and support budgeted profitability.
• Tendering, evaluating and appointing subcontractors, and placing orders for materials and plant.
• Identifying, evaluating and negotiating variations to contracts with customers and suppliers.
• Measuring and valuing work to support invoicing of customers and payment to suppliers.
• Producing monthly VCRs and End Life Forecasts, and managing cashflows.
