Job summary

Kier Group plc is hiring a Quantity Surveyor in the Building Solutions North team. You will support delivery of high quality projects for key strategic clients, focusing on maximizing gross margin and budgeted profitability.

Responsibilities include tendering/subcontractor management, contract variation negotiations, measurement and valuation for invoicing, and cashflow management. Strong organisation and team collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree or HNC in Quantity Surveying desirable.
• Experience in a similar role.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
• Able to work in multidisciplinary teams and supply chains.
• Flexible, team-oriented with initiative.

Job description

As a Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working within the Building Solutions North team, supporting them in delivering high quality projects for key strategic clients. Your day to day will include:

• Managing commercial resources to maximise planned gross margin and support budgeted profitability
• Tendering, evaluating and appointing subcontractors, and placing orders for materials and plant
• Identifying, evaluating and negotiating variations to contracts with customers and suppliers
• Measuring and valuing work to support invoicing of customers and payment to suppliers
• Producing monthly VCRs and End Life Forecasts, and managing cashflows
• You have diverse and clear communication skills with experience working with multidisciplinary teams, clients and supply chains
• You hold relevant qualifications (Degree or HNC in Quantity Surveying desirable) and have experience in a similar role
• You have good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and work to deadlines
• You're flexible and able to work as part of a team and using your own initiative
• You can use a range of IT packages including Microsoft Office and bespoke packages
