Job summary

Telent Technology Services Ltd is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to manage cost control from tender to final account on Highway projects. The role is hybrid, with primary home working and occasional travel to Warwick or Quinton offices.

You will bring experience in NEC3/NEC4 contracts, cost forecasting, and CVR management, working alongside the Senior Quantity Surveyor to support project teams and deliverables.

Qualifications

• Experience in a QS or Commercial-focused role within a similar industry.
• Commercial awareness including in-depth working knowledge of NEC3 and NEC4 forms of contract.
• Preparation and management of CVRs, cost forecasts, and cash flow.
• Confident administration of Early Warnings and Compensation Events.
• Experience managing variations, claims, and change control.
• Competent in the use of Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Preparing monthly client applications for payment and ensuring timely certification and payment.
• Administration of contracts with support from commercial.
• Reporting monthly on cost/value reconciliation.
• Support the project manager in preparation of delay claims and associated quantum.
• Assist in presenting the monthly contract review to senior management.

Reporting into the Senior Quantity Surveyor, the Quantity Surveyor will have experience of working on NEC3 and NEC4 contracts and have the opportunity to work on several exciting projects within our Highways division, with responsibility for managing all aspects of project cost control from tender to final account.

This is a hybrid working role, where you will primarily work from home but will require ad-hoc occasional travel required to our Warwick or Quinton office on occasion.

What you’ll do:

• Preparing and ensuring (i) monthly client applications for payment are issued in accordance with the contract and (ii) timely certification and payment by the client.
• Administration of contracts (with support from commercial)
• Reporting monthly on cost/value reconciliation
• Support the project manager in the preparation of claims for delay and associated quantum.
• Working with the project manager to prepare and present the monthly contract review to senior management team.
• Payment and commercial management of Suppliers/Sub-Contractors
• Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, health and safety regulations, and quality standards

Who you are:

You will have experience in a QS or Commercial focused role in a similar industry, with excellent stakeholder management, reporting and communication skills. This is not a traditional QS role and will not involve site work.
