Job summary

Aspire Defence Services Limited in Tidworth is actively seeking a Quantity Surveyor to drive commercial delivery across CPT projects, from early planning to final accounts. The role involves site surveys, working with procurement on tenders and maintaining robust cost and revenue forecasts.

You will prepare cost plans, validate invoices, manage variations and support finance with compliant reporting, all while promoting QHSE and safe working practices on site.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or higher in Quantity Surveying and a full UK driving licence.
• Experience in construction or facilities management with commercial/financial administration systems.
• Knowledge of MS Word, Excel and site health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial delivery of CPT projects from pre-construction through final accounts.
• Undertake site visits and surveys to support schedules, specs and scopes of work.
• Collaborate with procurement on tender processes, evaluations and recommendations.
• Produce cost plans, estimates and client submissions with robust forecasts.
• Assess progress, validate invoices and variations to ensure value for money.
• Manage project variations, instructions, contingency budgets and risk budgets.
• Provide commercial data to finance and central teams, ensuring adherence to procedures (IFS).
• Support and promote QHSE policies and safe working practices on site.

Your Role

• Lead the commercial delivery of a range of CPT projects from pre-construction through to agreement of final accounts.
• Undertake site visits and surveys to support preparation of schedules, specifications and scopes of work.
• Work closely with procurement teams during tender processes, assisting with tender evaluations and recommendations.
• Produce cost plans, estimates and formal client submissions while maintaining robust cost and revenue forecasts.
• Assess project progress, validate supply chain invoices and payment applications, and review quotations and variations to ensure value for money.
• Manage project variations, instructions, contingency budgets, risk budgets, supply chain orders and payments.
• Provide commercial information to finance and central commercial teams and ensure compliance with company procedures and systems, including IFS.
• Support and promote QHSE policies and safe working practices during all activities and site visits.

What We're Looking For

• Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 or above in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline, together with a full UK driving licence. Professional membership or progress towards a qualification such as RICS is advantageous.
• Experience: Experience within the construction and/or facilities management sector in a commercial or related role, supported by a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and commercial or financial administration systems. Awareness of site health and safety is essential.
• Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to build effective working relationships, prioritise workloads and work collaboratively within a team. You should be highly organised, detail-focused, competent with databases and spreadsheets, and able to demonstrate initiative, flexibility and a commitment to continuous professional development.
