Job summary

Aspire Defence Services Limited (ADSL) is seeking a Head of Central Finance in Tidworth. You will lead and develop a high-performing finance team, driving efficiency with ERP and forecasting tools. The role covers monthly reporting, budgeting, cash flow forecasting and financial analysis for internal stakeholders and the parent company.

You will own internal controls and audits, and support commercial and project finance with forecasting and commentary. Security clearance is required.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification with a degree.
• Proven track record leading finance teams in a commercial business; VAT and CIS experience.
• Strong communication, influencing skills, leadership and advanced MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing finance team with accountability.
• Drive efficiency via process improvement and modern finance tech adoption.
• Oversee monthly financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow and analytics.
• Own financial governance including internal controls and audits (SOX).
• Lead business partnering with central and garrison teams with forecasting and commentary.
• Be a member of the Extended Leadership Team with the Finance Director.

Your Role:

• You will be leading, mentoring and developing a high-performing finance team while fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
• You will be driving efficiency through process improvement and the adoption of modern finance technologies, including enterprise resource planning systems, forecasting tools and artificial intelligence.
• You will be overseeing monthly financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow forecasting and financial analysis for internal stakeholders and the parent company.
• You will be owning financial governance, including internal controls, statutory audits, Sarbanes Oxley controls and the development of robust financial control frameworks.
• You will be leading business partnering activities across central and garrison teams, supporting commercial and project finance functions with forecasting and commentary.
• You are a member of the Extended Leadership Team, championing organisational values, innovation, cross-functional collaboration and support to the Finance Director.

What We’re Looking For:

• Qualifications: You will hold a recognised accountancy qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA and be degree educated.
• Experience: You will have a proven track record of managing teams within a commercial business environment, supported by strong technical accounting knowledge, commercial awareness and experience of VAT and Construction Industry Scheme requirements.
• Skills: You will have excellent communication and influencing skills, strong leadership capability, advanced Microsoft Excel and systems knowledge, and the ability to adapt, organise effectively and challenge constructively.
