Job summary

Chris Main LTD is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to manage subcontract procurement for new housing developments. You will work as part of the Commercial team, value engineer when required, and protect the commercial viability of projects.

Candidates with housing developer experience and a strong construction background will be comfortable managing 2/3 projects while reporting to a SQS/Commercial Manager.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor in housing development or build construction.
• Ability to manage multiple projects (2/3) and report to a SQS/Commercial Manager.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, procurement and cost control.

Responsibilities

Job description

My client is a large developer who have a network of offices. They typically will build 400 units per year from this office and tend to build houses more than flatted developments.

The Commercial Director is searching for a Quantity Surveyor to manage the subcontract procurement for new housing developments, work as part of the Commercial team and where necessary value engineer and make sure you are protecting the commercial viability of projects.

It is preferred that you have worked for a housing developer or have proven experience with a Build Construction company. You will have a strong knowledge of construction and if you have worked for a developer you will feel comfortable managing 2/3 projects, whilst reporting to a SQS / Commercial Manager.

The role will include a competitive salary, £45K to £60K company car or allowance, healthcare, life cover, 25 days hols and a generous bonus.
