Job summary

Bennett & Game Recruitment LTD is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join a growing commercial team in Reigate, Surrey. You will manage the commercial delivery of residential developments from groundwork to final accounts and maintain robust cost control to ensure value for money.

Ideal candidates will have experience in residential housebuilding or affordable housing projects, be familiar with JCT contracts, and be capable of travelling between sites when required. A UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within residential housebuilding or related sectors.
• Knowledge of cost planning, budgets, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial delivery of residential housing developments from groundworks through to final account.
• Prepare cost plans, budgets, valuations and financial reports throughout the project lifecycle.
• Procure subcontract packages, manage tender processes and negotiate appointments.
• Administer contracts, variations, valuations and final accounts while maintaining cost control.
• Support delivery of affordable housing projects under JCT forms of contract, ensuring compliance.

Alongside their traditional private housing developments, they are expanding into affordable housing contracting projects, creating an exciting opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to gain exposure across both developer and main contractor environments. Position Overview

• Manage the commercial delivery of residential housing developments from groundworks through to final account
• Prepare cost plans, budgets, valuations and financial reports throughout the project lifecycle
• Procure subcontract packages, manage tender processes and negotiate appointments
• Administer contracts, variations, valuations and final accounts while maintaining robust cost control
• Support the delivery of upcoming affordable housing projects under JCT forms of contract, ensuring contractual compliance and accurate administration
• Work closely with operational teams, subcontractors, employers' agents and clients to achieve successful commercial outcomes

Position Requirements

• Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within residential housebuilding, a residential main contractor or SME developer
• Understanding of the full construction process from groundworks through to handover
• Strong contractual knowledge, ideally including JCT contracts, variations and contract administration
• Able to manage projects independently with excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail
• Experience working on affordable housing developments or residential main contracting projects would be advantageous, but is not essential
• Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel between the office and project sites when required
