Job summary

Resourcing Group is seeking a Quantity Surveyor for a leading civil engineering contractor in the Ramsgate area. The role suits someone from a civil engineering or groundworks background with project experience in rail, earthworks, sea defence or heavy civils.

Responsibilities include timely and accurate payment applications, cost/value reconciliations, cash flow forecasts, procurement, and commercial support to site and estimating teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial management of civil engineering projects.
• Ability to review site records and prepare payment applications.
• Proven ability to manage subcontractors and procure materials.

Responsibilities

• Regularly review site records/diaries and allocations to support payments, variations, claims.
• Present monthly cost/value reconciliations and forecasts.
• Procure and place sub-contract and materials orders; manage sub-contractors through to final accounts.
• Liaise with client on commercial matters and provide support to site and contracts teams.

Job description

Quantity Surveyor required for leading civil engineering contractor in the Ramsgate area. The Quantity Surveyor will ideally come from a civil engineering or groundworks background. Quantity surveyors with project experience covering rail, earthworks, sea defence, heavy civils and groundworks would be an advantage.

The Quantity Surveyor duties will be but not limited to Regular & diligent review/summary of site records/diary's/allocations & compilation to ensure timely and accurate presentation of appropriate documentation in support of additional payment, variations, claims etc.

• Prompt presentation of applications for payment, including contractual entitlements.
• Ensuring that payments are received in accordance with the contract terms and correctly allocated with accounts department.
• Preparation and presentation of Monthly Cost/Value Reconciliations and Final Cost/Value Forecasts.
• Preparation and presentation of forward work schedules and cash flows.
• Procurement, negotiation and placing of Sub-contract and materials orders.
• Financial and commercial management of Sub-contractors through to settlement of their Final Accounts.
• Ensuring that all contractual letters/ notices and information are presented in accordance with the contract requirements.
• Commercial support to the site and contracts management team.
• Commercial support to the Estimating and Procurement teams.
• Close liaison with the client on all commercial matters, including preparation and submission of supporting information including building/maintaining relationships.

The Quantity Surveyor role is a permanent one offering training and progression.
