Job summary

Resourcing Group is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a leading civil engineering contractor in the Folkestone/ Dover area. The role suits someone with civil engineering or groundworks experience, with project exposure to earthworks, sea defence and heavy civils.

You will review site records and allocations to support payments, prepare timely payment applications, and deliver monthly cost/value reconciliations, forecasts and cash flows.

Qualifications

• Civil engineering or groundworks background required or preferred.
• Experience with earthworks, sea defence and heavy civils advantageous.
• Strong understanding of site records, variations and payments.

Responsibilities

• Review site records, diaries and allocations to support payments, variations and claims.
• Promptly prepare payment applications in line with contract entitlements.
• Prepare regular cost/value reconciliations and forward forecasts.
• Develop cash flow forecasts and forward work schedules.
• Procure and place sub-contract and material orders.
• Manage subcontractor financials through to final accounts.
• Liaise with client on commercial matters and support site/contracts teams.

Job description

Senior Quantity Surveyor required for leading civil engineering contractor in the Folkestone / Dover area. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will ideally come from a civil engineering or groundworks background. Senior Quantity surveyors with project experience covering earthworks, sea defence, heavy civils and groundworks would be an advantage. The Senior Quantity Surveyor duties will be but not limited to Regular & diligent review/summary of site records/diarys/allocations & compilation to ensure timely and accurate presentation of appropriate documentation in support of additional payment, variations, claims etc. Prompt presentation of applications for payment, including contractual entitlements. Ensuring that payments are received in accordance with the contract terms and correctly allocated with accounts department. Preparation and presentation of Monthly Cost/Value Reconciliations and Final Cost/Value Forecasts. Preparation and presentation of forward work schedules and cash flows. Procurement, negotiation and placing of Sub-contract and materials orders. Financial and commercial management of Sub-contractors through to settlement of their Final Accounts. Ensuring that all contractual letters/ notices and information are presented in accordance with the contract requirements. Commercial support to the site and contracts management team. Commercial support to the Estimating and Procurement teams. Close liaison with the client on all commercial matters, including preparation and submission of supporting information including building/maintaining relationships.
