Job summary

Kier Group plc. is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join the Building Solutions London team and lead the commercial elements on projects valued £5m–£15m.

You will manage profitability, tender subcontractors, value work for invoicing and build strong client relationships on refurbishments and high-rise re-cladding schemes. The role requires a Degree or HNC in Quantity Surveying and experience in a similar commercial position.

Qualifications

• Degree or HNC in Quantity Surveying is required.
• Experience in a similar commercial role is preferred.
• Ability to manage subcontractors and procurement.

Join our Building Solutions London team where you’ll play a vital role in managing the commercial aspects of exciting projects ranging from £5m to £15m. What will you be responsible for?

As a Quantity Surveyor, you’ll be working within the Building Solutions London team, supporting them in delivering high-quality construction projects. Your day to day will include:

• Managing commercial resources to maximise project profitability and planned gross margins
• Tendering, evaluating and appointing subcontractors, and placing orders for materials and plant
• Measuring and valuing work to support customer invoicing and supplier payments
• Producing monthly VCRs and manage ELFs forecasts to track project performance and financial outcomes

You have strong communication skills and experience working effectively with multidisciplinary teams, clients and subcontractors

You hold relevant qualifications such as a Degree or HNC in Quantity Surveoring experience in a similar commercial role

You're organised, able to prioritise effectively and work well to deadlines

You're proficient with IT packages including Microsoft Office and industry-specific software

You're collaborative, flexible and comfortable working both as part of a team and on your own initiative
