Job summary

Kier Group plc. is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial team in the UK. The role focuses on cost control, value delivery, procurement, forecasting and final accounts across water-related civil projects.

You will work across teams to ensure cost efficiency, quality and timely project delivery while upholding Kier’s safety standards and contractual commitments.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying with sound commercial knowledge.
• Experience with civil projects within water industry.
• Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills.
• Experience with NEC contracts.
• Able to work to demanding deadlines and skilled IT user.

Responsibilities

• Controlling costs, maximizing value and maintaining quality and safety standards.
• Procurement of subcontractors ensuring best value for Kier and clients.
• Accurate monthly and quarterly forecasting and cost-to-complete documentation.
• Preparation of reports, cost analysis, and assessment of valuations and payments.
• Final account compilation and submission of monthly applications to clients.

Job description

Hours: 45 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us. We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.

As a Quantity Surveyor, you'll be an integral part of our Commercial team, providing vital support for the delivery of our projects. This is an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively across teams, contributing to cost efficiency and value creation whilst helping us deliver innovative solutions for our clients.

What will you be responsible for?

• Controlling costs, maximising value and maintaining quality and safety standards
• Procurement of subcontractors ensuring best value for Kier and our clients
• Accurate monthly and quarterly forecasting and preparation of cost to complete documentation
• Preparation of reports, cost analysis, and assessment of contractor valuations and applications for payment
• Final account compilation and submission of monthly applications to clients

Qualifications

• You hold a degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying with sound commercial and business knowledge
• You have experience working withcivil projects within the water industry
• You have excellent organisational, planning and time management skills
• You have experience working with NEC suite of contracts
• You can work effectively to demanding deadlines and have excellent IT skills
