Job summary

Kier Group is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join the Thames Water project at Maple Lodge STW, with remote working available and travel to the office/site required at least 3 days a week. You will support the commercial team on a £200m+ upgrade, helping to deliver robust cost control and commercial governance across the programme.

The role offers opportunities for progression toward Senior QS, with collaboration across engineering, operations and planning to ensure successful package delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience as Assistant QS or QS on civil engineering, utilities, construction or infrastructure projects.
• Strong numerical skills with excellent attention to detail and good organisational abilities.
• Experience of subcontract procurement, valuations and cost reporting.
• Understanding of construction contract principles; proficient in MS Excel and commercial tools.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Supporting cost control and financial reporting, including preparing cost reports, measuring works, and assisting with monthly valuations
• Managing subcontract activities from enquiry through to payment, maintaining accurate records and supporting tender analysis
• Assisting with change management by identifying, recording and valuing variations with supporting documentation
• Contributing to commercial reporting and maintaining clear, organised records in line with governance requirements
• Collaborating with engineering, operations and planning teams to ensure accurate information gathering and successful package delivery

What will you be responsible for?

As a Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working within the commercial team, supporting them in delivering excellent commercial performance across this significant water infrastructure project. Your day to day will include:
