Job summary

Kier Group is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the Thames Water – Maple Lodge STW team based in Rickmansworth. You will manage commercial aspects, lead cost control, and support the Commercial Manager from construction through to final account.

In this role you will mentor junior commercial staff, handle CVRs, forecasts, and reporting, and oversee subcontract packages to ensure successful project delivery.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or strong Quantity Surveyor on major civil engineering, process or water infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of contract management and change control.
• Experience managing subcontract packages through the full commercial lifecycle.
• Competence in CVRs, cost forecasting, financial reporting and commercial governance.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation and communication skills with the ability to mentor junior commercial staff.

• Preparing and maintaining detailed cost forecasts, cashflow projections, and variance analyses with accurate and timely reporting.

• Providing guidance and technical support to Quantity Surveyors and Assistant QSs, reviewing their outputs and supporting their development.

We're looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Thames Water – Maple Lodge STW team based in Rickmansworth.

Location: Maple Lodge STW, Rickmansworth

Hours: Full time - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a major water infrastructure upgrade project, supporting and deputising for the Commercial Manager. You'll lead day-to-day commercial management of key packages, ensuring robust cost control, supply chain management, and accurate reporting. As a senior member of the commercial team, you'll provide guidance to colleagues while contributing to the commercial success of this significant scheme from construction through to final account.
