Job summary

Linxon in Glasgow is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our project team delivering a 400kV substation infrastructure initiative. You will report to the Commercial Manager and drive cost control, contract administration, and financial reporting to the client and stakeholders.

You will manage NEC4 Option C contracts, handle compensation events, and collaborate with procurement and project teams to optimise value, reduce risk, and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery across the

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of NEC 4 contracts, particularly Option C.
• Excellent financial management and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., CEMAR, MS Excel, or similar tools).

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team in Glasgow. Reporting directly to the Commercial Manager, you will play a pivotal role in a 400kV substation project. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a high-value infrastructure project, ensuring cost control, contract management, and overall commercial success.

Key Responsibilities

Cost Management

• Monitor and control project costs to ensure the project is delivered within budget.
• Prepare and review cost forecasts, identifying risks and opportunities.
• Validate and manage subcontractor and supplier payments.

Contract Administration

• Administer the NEC 4 Option C contract, ensuring compliance with all terms and conditions.
• Manage Compensation Events (CEs) and variations, ensuring timely submissions and agreement.
• Work closely with the Project Manager to maintain accurate and comprehensive project records.

Risk and Value Management

• Identify, analyze, and mitigate commercial risks.
• Assist in value engineering to optimize project performance and reduce unnecessary costs.

Reporting

• Provide regular financial reports, including cost-value reconciliations (CVRs) and forecasts.
• Present financial performance and risk updates to stakeholders.

Collaboration

• Liaise with the client, subcontractors, and internal teams to maintain strong relationships.
• Support the procurement team in evaluating and appointing subcontractors.
