Job summary

Linxon is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer for an HV infrastructure project, site-based in Bridgwater. You will support project teams from concept to commissioning, ensuring quality across the lifecycle with emphasis on inspections, audits and corrective actions.

Strong QA/QC knowledge, civils/M&E installation awareness, and ISO 9001 auditing are highly regarded. The role requires collaboration with contractors and internal teams on a full-time basis.

Qualifications

  • HV substation project experience or heavy civil construction is preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of QA/QC processes and procedures.
  • ISO 9001 internal auditor qualification is advantageous.
  • Strong IT skills and ability to manage documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure quality activities by contractors on site meet project requirements.
  • Review ITPs with SMEs and ensure compliance with Linxon quality standards.
  • Promote continuous improvement through training and coaching.
  • Ensure site organisation and subcontractors comply with quality requirements.
  • Coordinate testing activities on site per ITPs.
  • Identify non-conformances and drive effective resolutions.
  • Support customer complaints and develop remedies.
  • Perform quality audits on a predetermined schedule.

Overview

Adaptability, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to quality assurance are fundamental for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure that quality-related project activities are efficiently implemented by contractors on site, meeting the specific requirements of the project.
  • Review contractors Inspection and Test Plans in collaboration with subject matter experts.
  • Promote continuous improvement by sharing your expertise through training and regular coaching, including ongoing communication with project management, site managers, internal specialist departments, document controllers, and specialist managers from the customer.
  • Ensure that construction site organisation and subcontractors comply with both project and Linxon quality requirements.
  • Facilitate testing activities on the construction site in accordance with the Inspection and Test Plans.
  • Identify, record non-conformances and ensure effective resolution.
  • Participate in mitigating negative impacts on the project and contribute to developing and implementing effective solutions.
  • Support the project teams with customer complaints and help develop effective solutions.
  • Perform quality audits In line with pre-determined schedule
Qualifications
  • Relevant experience working on HV substation projects and construction sites of varying size and complexity.
  • In-depth knowledge of quality assurance and quality control.
  • Civils construction & M&E installation experience would be a distinct advantage.
  • ISO 9001 Internal Auditor qualification.
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in MS Office and document management.
  • Health and Safety (H&S) experience is advantageous.
