Job summary

Linxon is seeking a Quality Engineer for an HV infrastructure project based on site in Bridgwater. You will support project teams from concept to commissioning, ensuring rigorous quality controls across construction activities.

The role requires robust QA/QC knowledge, HV/substation experience, and strong communication to coordinate with contractors and internal teams. Site-based, full-time position with a focus on proactive quality assurance.

Qualifications

• Experience on HV substation projects and construction site environments.
• Strong knowledge of quality assurance and quality control.
• Civil works and M&E installation experience is advantageous.
• ISO 9001 Internal Auditor qualification preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office and document management systems.
• Health and safety experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality-related activities on site are implemented by contractors to project requirements.
• Review contractors Inspection and Test Plans with SMEs.
• Provide training and coaching to project teams and stakeholders.
• Ensure site organisation and subcontractors comply with Linxon quality standards.
• Coordinate and facilitate testing activities on site per ITPs.
• Identify non-conformances and drive effective resolutions.
• Support customer complaints and develop corrective actions.
• Perform scheduled quality audits in line with project plans.

Overview

We are looking for experienced and motivated Quality Engineer to join our team for (HV) infrastructure project, the successful candidates will be responsible for supporting the project teams throughout the entire process, from concept to commissioning. The ideal applicants will have robust background in construction environments, demonstrate outstanding attention to detail, communicate effectively with diverse teams. Adaptability, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to quality assurance are fundamental for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure that quality-related project activities are efficiently implemented by contractors on site, meeting the specific requirements of the project.
• Review contractors Inspection and Test Plans in collaboration with subject matter experts.
• Promote continuous improvement by sharing your expertise through training and regular coaching, including ongoing communication with project management, site managers, internal specialist departments, document controllers, and specialist managers from the customer.
• Ensure that construction site organisation and subcontractors comply with both project and Linxon quality requirements.
• Facilitate testing activities on the construction site in accordance with the Inspection and Test Plans.
• Identify, record non-conformances and ensure effective resolution.
• Participate in mitigating negative impacts on the project and contribute to developing and implementing effective solutions.
• Support the project teams with customer complaints and help develop effective solutions.
• Perform quality audits In line with pre-determined schedule

Qualifications

• Relevant experience working on HV substation projects and construction sites of varying size and complexity.
• In-depth knowledge of quality assurance and quality control.
• Civils construction & M&E installation experience would be a distinct advantage.
• ISO 9001 Internal Auditor qualification.
• Strong IT skills, including proficiency in MS Office and document management.
• Health and Safety (H&S) experience is advantageous.
