Job summary

MWH Treatment Limited is seeking a Quantity Surveyor based in Chelmsford with hybrid working options. You will oversee key accounts on large projects or manage financial control for smaller projects, reporting to the Commercial Lead.

Key duties include valuations, cost control, forecasting, and risk/value management, with subcontract management and contract administration as core elements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
• ARICS or APC studying is desirable.
• Experience working with a main contractor is essential.

Responsibilities

• Applications, valuations and cost value reconciliation.
• Cost control and forecasting; prepare monthly reports on value, cost, profit/loss and cash flow.
• Manage supply chain activities.
• Assist with risk and value management; mentor project team.
• Contract management including relevant forms, budgetary control and software.
• Prepare subcontract enquiries; negotiate and set up contracts.
• Ensure all notifications and documents are kept up to date.
• Raise safety concerns with site management as required.
• Liaise with site team, subcontractors and client's representatives.
• Provide contractual advice to the site team when needed.

Job description

We are looking to strengthen our Commercial team with a Quantity Surveyor based at Sandon Valley House (Chelmsford) with hybrid working available.

You will report directly to the commercial Lead and you will be expected to take responsibility got several key accounts on a large project or the overall financial control of smaller projects

Key responsibilities will include:

• Applications, valuations / cost value reconciliation.
• Cost control and forecasting. Prepare and feed information for monthly reports: value, cost, profit/loss, cash flow.
• Supply chain management.
• Assisting with Risk and Value Management to optimise solution. Mentor and regularly review with the project team.
• Contract Management - including all relevant contractual forms, methods of budgetary control and relevant software applications.
• Prepare subcontract enquiries negotiate and set up contracts.
• Ensure all notifications/documents are kept up to date
• Ensure all safety risk situations are brought to the attention of site management.
• Ongoing liaison with site team, subcontractor(s) and clients' representative(s)
• Provide contractual advice to the site team as and when required.
