Job summary

Lanesra Technical Recruitment Ltd is assisting a client delivering water infrastructure projects across Essex & Suffolk. A Senior Quantity Surveyor is sought to strengthen the commercial team on the Northumbrian Water framework, reporting to the Commercial Lead and managing key accounts for large projects or smaller projects’ financial control.

Qualifications

Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
ARICS or APC progress.
Experience with main contractor.
Preferred water sector experience.
Knowledge of NEC contracts.

Responsibilities

Handle applications, valuations and cost value reconciliation.
Cost control and forecasting; prepare monthly reports on value, cost, profit/loss and cash flow.
Supply chain management and subcontract management.
Mentor project team and manage risk/value with the team.
Contract management and subcontract setup and documentation control.
Ensure all supplier/subcontractor enquiries are prepared and contracts set up.
Ensure notifications/documents are up to date and safety issues are reported to site management.
Liaise with site team, subcontractors and client representatives; provide contractual advice as needed.

Position: Senior Quantity Surveyor

Location: Chelmsford with hybrid working available

Salary Guide: £65k - 75k (Neg DOE), car allowance and excellent benefits package or £(Apply online only) per day inside IR35

Our Client: Is an integrated design and build solution provider operating in the water sector. They have over 1,400 staff working across eight regional centres, primarily supporting eight long term water sector frameworks operating both on their own and increasingly in joint ventures and alliances.

They are delivering a number of water infrastructure projects across Essex & Suffolk.

The Role

Our client is looking to strengthen their commercial team with a Senior Quantity Surveyor for their Essex and Suffolk (Northumbrian Water) framework.

You will report directly to the Commercial Lead, and you will be expected to take responsibility got several key accounts on a large project or the overall financial control of smaller projects.

Responsibilities

Applications, valuations/cost value reconciliation.
Cost control and forecasting. Prepare and feed information for monthly reports: value, cost, profit/loss, cash flow.
Supply chain management.
Assisting with Risk and Value Management to optimise solution. Mentor and regularly review with the project team.
Contract Management - including all relevant contractual forms, methods of budgetary control and relevant software applications.
Prepare subcontract enquiries negotiate and set up contracts.
Ensure all notifications/documents are kept up to date
Ensure all safety risk situations are brought to the attention of site management.
Ongoing liaison with site team, subcontractor(s) and clients' representative(s)
Provide contractual advice to the site team as and when required.

Experience

Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent

ARICS or studying for APC

Experience working with a main contractor

Experience working within Water Sector (preferred)

Knowledge of NEC contracts
