Job summary

Linear Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to support a varied portfolio of civil engineering and infrastructure projects in Northamptonshire, ranging from small schemes to multi-million works. You will contribute to cost control, value reporting, and commercial administration within a collaborative team.

The role offers exposure to NEC/IChemE contracts, cost forecasting, and final accounts, with the chance to progress under experienced colleagues.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Quantity Surveying role within construction or civil engineering.
• Working knowledge of NEC/IChemE contracts.
• Experience supporting subcontract procurement and commercial processes.
• Strong communication, organisational, and numerical skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of cost, value, and cash flow reporting.
• Support project forecasting, CVRs, and commercial planning.
• Prepare applications for payment and assist through to final account.
• Support subcontract procurement, administration, and financial management.
• Assist in administering contracts (primarily NEC and IChemE forms).
• Help identify commercial risks and opportunities.
• Liaise with project teams, subcontractors, and clients on commercial matters.
• Support cost control and efficiency improvements across projects.
• Ensure compliance with internal commercial processes.

The Role

We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of a varied portfolio of civil engineering and infrastructure projects, ranging from £200k to £10m+. Working as part of a collaborative commercial team, you will contribute to effective cost management, contract administration, and project performance.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your commercial skills within a fast-paced environment, gaining exposure to a wide range of projects while supporting senior team members and project delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities
