Overview

Reed Property & Construction are proudly working with a leading demolition contractor to recruit for an experienced Estimator.

This business is a real leader in their field with some exciting news that will drop soon on some key contracts they have won.

Their projects range from £100k to £10m, and pride themselves on having an expert workforce and state-of-the-art plant equipment.

They are looking for an experienced QS with construction, demolition or environmental remediation experience to support with their interesting and frequently complex projects.

The Quantity Surveyor will be based in the Birmingham office and will assist with commercial and project co-ordination duties on a number of projects from point of award through to final account. The Quantity Surveyor will also provide commercial assistance to the estimating department and business development teams.

Duties include

Commercial Responsibilities

• Review and advise on contract documentation, including terms, specifications, and warranties, throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage client instructions, variations, valuations, interim payments, and final account agreements.
• Monitor project costs, prepare reconciliations, and support dispute resolution where necessary.
• Oversee subcontractor procurement, agreements, payments, and final account negotiations.

Project Coordination Responsibilities

• Liaise with clients and statutory bodies to ensure permissions, notifications, and service disconnections are in place before site commencement.
• Attend key project meetings and maintain the programme of works.
• Manage pre-commencement documentation, including health and safety paperwork and site pack preparation.
• Maintain communication with the wider project team and assist with Site Waste Management Plans.
