Job summary

Infinity Employment are seeking an experienced Quality Technician / QC Inspector to join an established engineering/manufacturing business in Basingstoke. You will ensure manufactured and purchased components meet engineering drawings, specifications and internal quality standards.

The role is a 6-month rolling contract, 38 hours per week with paid overtime and an immediate start available.

Qualifications

  • Experience as Quality Technician / QC Inspector or similar.
  • Background in engineering/manufacturing or precision engineering.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience with CMM and/or VMM inspection equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out metrology and dimensional inspection on manufactured and purchased components.
  • Inspect components against drawings, specifications and internal docs.
  • Use micrometers, verniers, gauges and precision measuring equipment.
  • Inspect with pre-programmed CMM/VMM equipment and record results.
  • Support MRB reviews and CAPA investigations.

Quality Technician / QC Inspector
Location: Basingstoke
Pay: £20.00 per hour - Ltd Company or Umbrella
PAYE option also available
Hours: 38 hours per week
Overtime: Paid overtime available
Contract: 6-month rolling contract
Start: Immediate

Infinity Employment are seeking an experienced Quality Technicians / QC Inspectors to join an established engineering/manufacturing business based in Basingstoke.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quality Technician with a strong background in precision inspection and metrology. You will be responsible for ensuring both manufactured and purchased components meet the required engineering drawings, processes, specifications and internal quality standards.

The position is initially offered on a 6-month rolling contract, working 38 hours per week with the opportunity for paid overtime.

The Role

As Quality Technician, your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out metrology and dimensional inspection activities on manufactured and purchased components
  • Inspecting components against engineering drawings, specifications, processes and internal documentation
  • Using a range of manual inspection equipment including micrometers, verniers, gauges and other precision measuring equipment
  • Inspecting components using pre-programmed CMM and VMM equipment
  • Recording and reporting inspection results accurately
  • Supporting New Product Development (NPD) with component and product inspections
  • Producing and supporting relevant quality and inspection reports
  • Liaising with technical and engineering teams regarding quality or technical issues
  • Supporting MRB (Material Review Board) reviews when required
  • Assisting with CAPA investigations both internally and externally
  • Identifying non-conforming components and escalating quality concerns appropriately
  • Working closely with Quality, Engineering and Production teams to maintain high manufacturing standards
The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone with:

  • Previous experience as a Quality Technician, Quality Inspector, QC Inspector or similar
  • A strong background within an engineering, manufacturing or precision engineering environment
  • Hands-on experience using micrometers, verniers and gauges
  • Experience using CMM and/or VMM inspection equipment
  • The ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Good understanding of dimensional inspection and metrology
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Experience supporting NPD, MRB or CAPA activities would be advantageous
Contract & Pay

£20.00 per hour - Ltd Company or Umbrella
There is also an option to work PAYE.
This is a 6-month rolling contract, offering 38 hours per week plus paid overtime.
