Job summary

CVS Vets is seeking a Quality Officer for its Axiom Veterinary Laboratory site in Newton Abbot, Devon. You will join a small Quality team dedicated to maintaining ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standards, with training provided and opportunities to contribute to ongoing improvements.

Responsibilities include auditing, calibration checks, record keeping, and cross-site collaboration to ensure product and process quality.

Qualifications

• Clear communication skills and ability to contribute to team discussions.
• Familiarity with ISO 17025:2017 quality standards is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Map temperature controlled equipment and perform ongoing checks.
• Ensure all temperature monitoring equipment is calibrated and functioning within required parameters.
• Maintain a robust audit schedule across the site and occasionally at sister sites.
• Support continual quality improvement of methodologies and procedures.
• Record clear and accurate documentation and maintain SOPs.
• Communicate effectively across colleagues, managers and other departments to promote quality on site.
• Adhere to QMS policies and review documents for updates.

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 40 hours per week

Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday, hours between 09.00 – 17.00

About The Role

As a Quality Officer in our Quality team, you will be part of a small team dedicated to promoting quality and ensuring the high standards expected are continuously in place and improvements are sought at all times.

Your Primary Responsibilities Will Include

• Mapping of Temperature controlled equipment: Ongoing checks of any temperature controlled equipment.
• Equipment Maintenance & Calibrations: Ensuring all temperature monitoring equipment is calibrated and functioning within correct parameters for the tasks required.
• Auditing: There is a very robust and full audit schedule in place to check procedures, systems and processes throughout the site. We also audit occasionally at our sister site and may be required to do external audits.
• Quality Improvement: Our whole purpose is to look at how systems and processes can be improved and have a continual improvement of methodologies and procedures
• Problem Solving: A lot of the tasks require logical thinking and problem solving including completing investigations and putting improvements in place.
• Record Keeping: Maintaining clear and accurate records is key to this role and at the forefront of everything we do.
• Communication: Acting as a key liaison to ensure smooth information flow between colleagues, managers, and other departments and helping to promote Quality engagement on site.
• Awareness of and adherence to QMS policies, procedures and methods in accordance with EN ISO 17025:2017, including the regular review of documents and identification of any required updates.

Whilst previous experience working in quality is advantageous, it is not required for this role as full training will be given.
