Job summary

Prime Appointments Recruitment Agency seeks a Quality Manager in Southend-on-Sea to lead the Quality & Inspection department with autonomy and strategic direction. The role is on-site, permanent, 37 hrs/wk (Mon–Thu, Fri off), offering a competitive salary and a 4-day week environment.

The successful candidate will manage AS9100 QMS, mentor the inspection team, and drive continuous improvement while acting as the primary customer quality contact.

Qualifications

• Proven aerospace sector experience (essential).
• Strong working knowledge of AS9100/ISO9100.
• Hands-on FAIR/LAIR experience.
• Proven leadership/supervisory background in inspection/quality.
• Qualified auditor.
• Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the AS9100 QMS.
• Lead and mentor the Inspection team.
• Create/approve FAIR/LAIR documentation using VisualFAIR.
• Conduct internal/external AS9100 audits.
• Act as Approved Signatory for product release.
• Oversee calibration and qualification processes.
• Drive zero-defect/continuous improvement initiatives and serve as primary contact for customer quality matters.
