Actio Recruitment is seeking a Quality Manager – Aerospace in Basildon to own the quality function, manage the inspection team and represent quality to customers and authorities. The role requires strong experience in aerospace quality systems and audits.

You will drive continuous improvement, maintain QMS, and ensure ISO 9100/AS9100 compliance while planning audits and training staff.

Qualifications

• Experience leading quality functions in aerospace industry.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9100 / AS9100 and EASA standards.
• Proven FAIR/LAIR experience and ability to interpret engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and monitor the Quality Management System.
• Act as Management Representative for quality matters.
• Lead and develop the Inspection team.
• Oversee inspection/verification of parts at all stages of manufacture.
• Manage calibration of equipment and readiness for production.
• Create/approve FAIRs/LAIRs to specifications.
• Deliver training on VisualFAIR software.
• Plan/audit to ISO 9100/AS9100 standards.
• Identify resource and investment needs.
• Approve release and inspection processes.
• Support continuous improvement & management reviews.

Quality Manager – Aerospace

This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading engineering manufacturer as their Quality Manager, reporting directly to the General Manager and leading the full Quality function.

You’ll take ownership of Quality Management Systems, manage the Inspection team, and act as the company’s representative for all quality matters. If you thrive in a regulated environment and enjoy driving continuous improvement, this role offers autonomy, responsibility, and long‑term stability.

The Role

• Manage, maintain and monitor the company’s Quality Management Systems.
• Act as the business’s Management Representative for all quality matters.
• Lead, develop and manage the Inspection team.

• Support continuous improvement and participate in management review meetings.
