Job summary

ASC Connections is seeking an experienced Quality Manager for a precision manufacturing environment in the UK. You will lead quality activities, manage customer complaints and quality escapes, and drive continuous improvement while maintaining the QMS to meet AS9100 and IATF 16949 standards.

The role requires coaching and mentoring team members, overseeing NPI quality support, and coordinating internal and external audits. A-focused leader with strong problem-solving skills will fit well.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quality Manager, or a Quality Engineer ready to move into management.
• Experience in aerospace, automotive, or precision manufacturing.
• Strong track record in handling customer complaints and quality escapes.
• Knowledge of AS9100, NADCAP, AS9102 or IATF 16949 requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead customer complaints and quality escapes from containment to resolution.
• Coach and mentor team members to improve quality standards and performance.
• Maintain and develop the QMS in line with customer and industry requirements.
• Oversee quality support for NPI, including PFMEAs, control plans, PPAPs and FAIRs.
• Lead internal audits and coordinate customer and regulatory audits.
• Drive reductions in non-conformance through structured problem-solving and continuous improvement.

A Quality Manager opportunity has arisen within a well-established precision manufacturing business supplying complex components into highly regulated engineering sectors. Working closely with customers and manufacturing teams, you'll lead quality activities, manage customer complaints and quality escapes, maintain the Quality Management System, and develop team members to improve quality performance.

Quality Manager responsibilities include -

• Leading customer complaints and quality escapes from containment through to resolution.
• Coaching and mentoring team members to improve quality standards and performance.
• Maintaining and developing the QMS in line with customer and industry requirements.
• Overseeing quality support for NPI, including PFMEAs, control plans, PPAPs and FAIRs.
• Leading internal audits and coordinating customer and regulatory audits.
• Driving reductions in non-conformance through structured problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Quality Manager desirable skills and experience -

• Previous Quality Manager experience, or a Quality Engineer ready to progress into management.
• Experience within aerospace, automotive or precision manufacturing.
• Strong customer complaint and quality escape management experience.
• Knowledge of AS9100, NADCAP, AS9102 or IATF 16949 requirements.
• Familiarity with FAIRs, PFMEAs, control plans and PPAPs.
• Confident leading and developing others, with the ability to interpret engineering drawings.
