Job summary

Bowmay Consulting is recruiting a Quality Manager for a global manufacturing client in the Middleton, Greater Manchester area. The role leads the Quality function, drives continuous improvement across manufacturing operations, and collaborates with engineering, production and purchasing to deliver operational excellence.

You will apply ISO 9001:2015, lead internal and external audits, and develop a high-performing Quality team. Occasional overseas travel is expected as part of the role.

Qualifications

• You’ll be an experienced Quality Manager with an engineering or manufacturing background
• You’ll have a recognised engineering qualification
• Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, including internal and external audits
• Experience leading Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implementing corrective actions
• The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and tolerances
• Knowledge of inspection and testing methods, including NDT techniques
• You’ll be comfortable with occasional overseas travel over the course of the year

Responsibilities

• Lead and maintain the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System
• Manage internal, external and customer audits
• Lead and develop the Quality team
• Drive quality improvements using data, RCA and Lean methodologies
• Manage supplier quality, audits and Supplier Performance Management
• Oversee inspection, testing, calibration and quality documentation
• Investigate customer complaints and implement effective corrective actions
• Monitor and report quality KPIs to senior management
• Support the development of an Integrated Management System incorporating ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
• Work closely with Engineering, Production, Purchasing and other departments to improve quality across the business
• Lead continuous improvement projects using tools such as PFMEA, MSA and DFM
• Manage departmental budgets and quality priorities to support production
