Quality Manager

Location: Blackburn Region

Industry: FMCG Manufacturing

Salary: £45,000 – £47,000 DOE + Bonus, Discount Schemes, Pension, Holidays

Role Description

1. Build strong customer relationships, both directly and through Account Managers, ensuring effective reporting, feedback, collaboration, and expectation management.
2. Own quality reporting and KPIs for all relevant stakeholders, including group requirements, and set targets/KPIs objectively.
3. Be a key member of the WCO Quality Pillar team, maintaining and reporting KPIs, and embedding continuous improvement into daily quality activities and culture.
4. Focus on root cause analysis, corrective and preventative actions, and proactive improvements to testing, procedures, and protocols.
5. Manage the Quality team, ensuring they support the wider technical and manufacturing teams by promoting a quality and food-safety culture.
6. Liaise with group external sources and the Compliance Manager to ensure standards that guarantee product quality, safety, and legality.
7. Participate in digitalisation initiatives to improve communication, data collection, efficiencies, and culture, including system implementation and enhancement.
8. Ensure site compliance with GMP, BRCGS, ISO9001, ISO14001 standards to maintain product quality.
9. Collaborate with the Compliance Manager and departments to review and update the internal IMS (Integrated Management System).

Skills and Qualifications

1. Extensive experience in auditing, with in-depth knowledge of BRCGS, ISO9001, ISO14001 standards.
2. Strong leadership, technical skills, team management experience, and a collaborative team player capable of responsibility and accountability.
3. University degree (or equivalent) in quality technology or a related discipline.
4. Formal qualification to Level 3 HACCP.
5. Lead Auditor Qualification.
