Job description

We’re looking for a hands-on Quality Manager to support the day-to-day running of the quality function in a busy, fast-paced food manufacturing environment. You’ll be ensuring high standards are maintained and the go to person for all things related to food safety, quality, and compliance.

Please note – this is a 12-month fixed-term contract.

About the Role

The site has recently undergone a period of significant investment, including the installation of new production and packaging equipment. It’s a busy time and they need an experienced Quality Manager to provide additional support for the next 12 months.

Reporting to the Technical Manager, some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading quality and food safety on shift, resolving issues and ensuring compliance.
  • Working closely with Operations, Hygiene, Engineering, and Supply Chain to keep quality front and centre of all activities.
  • Helping to drive improvements, embedding a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement.
  • Supporting internal and external audits, championing GMP, and ensuring team KPIs are achieved.

About You

To be able to hit the ground running, you’ll ideally have:

  • Experience of working in a technical or quality role in a high-volume food production environment.
  • Qualified to degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or similar (preferred).
  • Demonstrable knowledge of quality and food safety systems (HACCP, TACCP etc).
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to work closely with colleagues at all levels.
  • Food Safety and HACCP qualifications.
