Our Community Healthcare Support Service model forms a nationwidenetwork of local support groups, health care professionals, volunteers and one-to-one support teams helpingfamilies adjust to life with a heart or lung condition, long covid or after a stroke.
To support the delivery of our ambitious NLHL strategy, CHSS is seeking to appoint a Quality Assurance Manager. Inthis role, the post holder will play a pivotal role in driving a culture of excellence across CHSS CommunityHealthcare Support services. This leadership position will be accountable for the strategic oversight andcontinuous enhancement of quality assurance (QA) frameworks, ensuring robust governance is embedded throughoutthe Service Delivery department. The role will champion the alignment of service standards with best practices,regulatory requirements, and contractual obligations, while proactively identifying opportunities for qualityimprovement. This role will serve as a subject matter expert in clinical governance, quality assurance andquality improvement and in collaboration with the senior management team, will support the systematic monitoringand evaluation of service performance to ensure optimal outcomes for service users and stakeholders.
CHSS is seeking an experienced leader with proven experience in quality assurance across health & social care andthird sector environments. Applicants will have a recognised professional qualification/registration withinhealth and/or social care and have excellent leadership, communication and organizational skills. Confidence inIT skills and experience working to a high professional standard using own initiative is essential.

The postholder will have the responsibility to lead the delivery and ongoing development of CHSS community-basedsupport services, as well as its evidence-based 6-week SMRC Supported Self-Management and 12-week Living Wellwith Aphasia programmes, with a focus on enabling people with our conditions to live with, and beyond, their newreality. Core to this will be the requirement of the postholder to manage the Community Support Service andSupported Self-Management offers and be a visible and vocal advocate for the charity that ensures our positionas the key 3rd sector partner within geographic systems of health and social care. The active and continuousdevelopment of senior system relationships will underpin the delivery of the role and ensure the long-termsuccess of the charity and the delivery of our No Life Half Lived Strategy.

Our Hospital to Home services forms a nationwide network of local support groups,nurses, volunteers and one-to-one support teams helping families adjust to life with a heart or lung conditionor after a stroke.
The role of the Stroke Nurse is to facilitate a smooth transition from hospital back into the community, for peoplewho have had a stroke and their families. The Stroke Nurse helps them adjust to the changes associated with thestroke, through the provision of information, advice and support.
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who is organised and motivated, with good communication skills. Candidatesmust have a first level general nursing qualification and have a minimum of 3 years post-registration experiencein either a hospital or community setting. Experience working with people affected by stroke is desirable. Thesuccessful candidate will work as part of a CHSS stroke nurse team within Lothian and will receive fullinduction and support upon commencement of this role. This role is an excellent development opportunity for acurrent staff nurse working within a hospital or community setting and who would like to further advance theirstroke care experience.

The Health Defence Coordinator will be responsible for the delivery of the Health Defence programme within areas ofneed in Scotland. The role includes delivering health checks; healthy lifestyle workshops; working with keypartner organisations and supporting lifestyle change to reduce the risk of our conditions in communities wherethere is a high prevalence of health inequalities and deprivation. The role will involve regular travel todifferent areas of need across Scotland, overnight stays on occasion and would suit a flexibly minded andmotivated individual who enjoys variety in their working week. The successful candidate will be happy to travelto different venues across Scotland to optimise our profile and reach.
The Health Defence Coordinator will also be expected to support integration of Health Defence across CHSS whileworking closely with colleagues in the services directorate to enable CHSS activities where appropriate.

Join Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland as a Retail Stock Collector and play a key role in supporting our stores acrossScotland. In this role, you'll be responsible for transporting van loads of stock—boxes and bags—betweenlocations to ensure each store has the right items to meet income targets.
Your primary coverage area will span Moray down the East, including Tayside, Fife, and Perthshire, with theflexibility to assist across a wider region as needed, such as during annual leave cover. Ideally, you’ll becentrally based within this area, around Tayside.
