Job summary

The Best Connection are recruiting on behalf of an established manufacturing company in Birmingham for a Quality Improvement Inspector / Technician to join their team on a permanent basis.

You will own quality and process controls, manage supplier quality defect reporting, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires hands-on shop-floor collaboration and strong knowledge of Lean and 5S methods.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a quality, inspection, process engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of quality control and manufacturing processes.
• Good understanding of continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Experience with 5S, quality KPIs and process controls.
• The ability to work confidently in a hands-on, shop-floor manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of quality and process controls within the manufacturing environment.
• Manage supplier quality defect rejection reporting, non-conformances and data collection.
• Work with suppliers on the inspection and validation of parts.
• Identify and deliver quality improvement projects to improve operational performance.
• Collect and monitor quality data to support improvement activities and ensure compliance with the Quality Management System.
• Drive a structured QCD KPI programme.
• Carry out product audits and provide technical customer service support.
• Champion Lean Manufacturing and 5S throughout the business.
