Contek Recruitment Solutions are representing a long-established precision engineering manufacturer based in the Great Barr area of Birmingham, who are looking to recruit a Quality Inspector following the upcoming retirement of a long-serving member of the team.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable and well-respected engineering business with an outstanding reputation for quality. Working within an experienced Quality Department, you will support the Technical & Quality Manager in ensuring all manufactured and purchased components meet the company's exacting standards.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out inspection activities throughout the manufacturing process, including first-off, in-process, final and goods-in inspection, while working closely with production to maintain quality and drive continuous improvement.
You will ideally have previous experience within a Quality Inspection role in a precision engineering or manufacturing environment and possess a strong eye for detail.
A recognised engineering apprenticeship or engineering qualification (Level 2, ONC, HNC or equivalent) would be advantageous, although candidates with relevant industry experience are encouraged to apply.
You should have a good understanding of manufacturing processes such as turning, milling, gear cutting, fabrication or assembly, together with knowledge of engineering materials and heat treatment processes. Experience using a wide range of metrology equipment is essential, while previous exposure to manual CMM inspection and ISO 9001:2015 would be beneficial.
Strong communication skills, good organisational ability and confidence working both independently and as part of an experienced engineering team are key to succeeding in this role.
