Job summary

Probe UK Limited is seeking a hands-on Quality Engineer to join our manufacturing team on the shop floor in Birmingham. The role focuses on owning quality controls, solving problems, and driving continuous improvement across processes and supplier interfaces.

You will work closely with Production, Quality, Process Engineering and suppliers to identify issues, determine root causes and implement lasting corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
• Knowledge of root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
• Experience within a quality function or quality management system.
• Confidence dealing with suppliers and quality issues.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Good IT skills, particularly Excel.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of quality and process controls across manufacturing.
• Investigate quality issues and drive corrective and preventative actions.
• Carry out product and process audits.
• Manage supplier quality issues, including defect reporting and non-conformance.
• Work with suppliers on inspection and validation of parts.
• Support Production with day-to-day quality and process problems.
• Collect and analyse quality data to identify trends and opportunities.
• Identify and deliver quality improvement projects.
• Support NPI, new projects and product approvals.
• Review and improve process controls, work instructions and quality documentation.
• Help reduce variation, improve reliability and drive better operational performance.
• Champion Lean, 5S and good housekeeping throughout the business.
• Support continuous improvement activity focused on efficiency, productivity and cost reduction.

We're looking for a Quality Engineer to join our manufacturing team and play a key role in driving quality, process improvement and continuous improvement across the business.

This is a shop-floor focused role where you'll work closely with Production, Quality, Process Engineering and suppliers to identify issues, find the root cause and make sure they don't happen again.

Commutable from Birmingham, Solihull, Sutton Coldfield, Tyesley, Aston, Moseley, Harbourne, Coleshill Oldbury, Kings Norton and Rubery

Requirements
