Ernest Gordon Recruitment is seeking a Quality Inspector for a precision engineering firm in Derby. The role features training on CMM, a Monday–Friday work pattern, and private medical insurance after probation.

You will inspect machined components and hand-held parts, supporting a high-quality manufacturing process. The successful candidate will read engineering drawings, work with micrometers and other gauges, and participate in first-off, in-process and final inspections to meet customer

Qualifications

• Experience inspecting machined components using precision measuring equipment.
• Hands-on inspection role developing skills in a modern manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances and specifications.
• Use precision measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers, height gauges and bore gauges.
• Check manufactured components against customer requirements and engineering specifications.

Responsibilities

• Carry out first-off, in-process and final inspection of precision-engineered components.
• Inspect machined parts, small castings and hand-held mechanical components.
• Undertake incoming and outgoing material and component inspections.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensional tolerances and technical specifications.
• Use precision measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers, height gauges and bore gauges.
• Check manufactured components against customer requirements and engineering specifications.
